RRB Group D PET result 2026 out for CEN No. 08/2024 cycle. The result is out for PET exams conducted till 30th July 2026. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) shall be conducted between 29th July and 1st August 2026 for the Ajmer Zone, 28th July and 29th July for Patna Zone, 9th September and 11th September 2026 for RRC Ranchi, 31st August and 3rd September 2026 for Bhopal Zone, and 25th July and 28th July 2026 for Prayagraj Zone.
RRB Group D Physical Efficiency Test (PET) 2026 is an important stage of the recruitment process conducted by Railway Recruitment Boards after the Computer Based Test (CBT). Candidates shortlisted on the basis of CBT will be called for PET zone-wise as per the schedule released by respective RRBs. Physical Efficiency Test is of a qualifying nature and conducted to judge the physical fitness for different RRB Group D posts in Indian Railways.
Male candidates are expected to be able to lift and carry 35 kg for 100 metres and run 1000 metres in the prescribed time, while female candidates have to meet different physical standards. Candidates are advised to keep visiting their respective RRB zones for updates on PET date, admit card, reporting instructions and document verification so that they do not miss any important stage of the selection process.
RRB Group D PET Result Out
RRB Group D PET Result 2026 for selected RRB zones has been announced. RRB Ajmer declared the PET Result on 30 July 2026 for 29 and 30 July batches, while RRB Prayagraj released the result on 26 July 2026 for 25 July PET. Candidates are called for Document Verification (DV) and Medical Examination.

RRB Group D PET 2026
The RRB Group D Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is a qualifying round for candidates who clear the Computer Based Test (CBT). In the PET round, candidates’ basic physical fitness is evaluated through Weight Lifting and running activities. Only those who successfully complete the PET are eligible to move forward in the recruitment process for the Group D posts.
RRB Group D Physical Test 2026 Date
Physical tests for Group D CEN No. 08/2024 by RRB are organized zone-wise for the selected applicants in the Computer Based Test (CBT). According to the prescribed RRB Group D Exam date schedule, the Physical Test (PET) is planned from 28 July to 1 August 2026 for different railway zones, which include Patna (28-29 July), Ajmer (29 July-1 August), and Chennai (29-31 July 2026).

RRB Group D Physical Test 2026 Details
Once you qualify for the RRB Group D Computer-based Test, candidates are called for the Physical Efficiency (both male and female candidates). The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is qualifying in nature and is mandatory to pass. Below are the details of Group D 2026 PET for male and female candidates separately.

RRB Group D 2026 Physical Efficiency Test: General Instructions
The RRB Group D 2026 Physical Efficiency Test is conducted to check whether shortlisted candidates are physically fit for railway duties. Candidates must strictly follow the rules issued by Railway Recruitment Board during the PET to avoid disqualification and ensure a smooth test process.
- The test consists of two stages. The weight-carrying test is conducted first. If you fail the weight-carrying test, you are eliminated immediately and cannot proceed to the running test.
- The PET standards for transgender candidates are relaxed and are equivalent to the standards for female candidates.
- Pregnant candidates can submit a self-declaration. If confirmed pregnant, they will be declared temporarily unfit and re-examined for the PET six weeks after confinement.
- PET is only a qualifying test. The results of PET will be announced on the same day, after the test, as far as possible.
- Candidates are expected to take adequate care while undergoing PET to avoid any injury to themselves or those around them.
- The Railway will not be responsible for any injury or damage suffered/caused during the Physical Efficiency Test.
- The decision of the PET committee at the venue regarding the fitness/un‐fitness of candidates in the PET will be final.
- Candidates should strictly obey the instructions issued by Railway Officials at the PET venue.
- Candidates are advised to read the conditions specified in the employment notification carefully and appear for the PET only if they fulfill all the eligibility conditions mentioned therein. Please note that ineligible candidates detected at any stage will lead to disqualification.
- Candidates will be allowed only one chance and requests for a second chance will not be entertained under any circumstances.
- No request for the change in date, venue, and time for PET will be entertained.
- Candidates are advised to appear for the exam in appropriate clothes and shoes.
- Candidates should report to the PET venue one hour before the time indicated on the call letters. Candidates will not be allowed to enter the venue without producing the call letter.

Medical Standards for Group D Posts
Candidates called for DV will have to pass a requisite medical fitness test(s) conducted by the Railway Administration to ensure that the candidates are medically fit to carry out the duties connected with the post(s) opted by them. Visual Acuity Standard is one of the important criteria of the medical fitness of railway staff. The medical requirements against different medical standards for different categories are outlined below:

Preparation Tips For RRB Group D Physical Efficiency Test
Candidates appearing for the Railway Group D Physical Efficiency Test must pass the physical fitness test if they want to be part of Railways. Although the specific requirements and tests can vary from state to state, applicants basically need to demonstrate that they are agile and can move quickly when needed.
Step 1: Research the requirements for your state to find out exactly what fitness skills are included in the Railway Group D Physical Efficiency Test.
Step 2: Start exercising several weeks before you are scheduled to take the Railway Group D Physical Efficiency Test. Build up your level of fitness and endurance. Allow yourself enough preparation time to lose any excess weight.
Step 3: Do aerobic activities several times each week. Walk, swim, jog or participate in any other activities that get your heart pumping. Aerobic exercise will improve blood volume, distribution, and delivery to muscles and improve cardiovascular efficiency.

RRB Group D PET Exemptions 2026
According to the recruitment rules, some categories of candidates are exempted from the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) by the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs). The candidates of PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities), Course Completed Act Apprentices (CCAAs) and Ex-Servicemen categories are not required to appear for the PET stage. However, this exemption is limited to the physical test. Candidates applying for RRB Group D Recruitment 2026 will have to qualify the Computer Based Test (CBT), Document verification process and prescribed medical examination for final appointment.

What Next After RRB Group D Physical Efficiency Test 2026?
Once the Physical Efficiency Test is conducted candidates will be called for the next stage i.e Document Verification round. The candidates are required to present the documents in either Hindi or English. If the certificates are in some other language then a candidate must produce the self-attested translated version of the same. Candidates must bring the original as well as two sets of self-attested photocopies of the documents on the day of document verification.
