The RRB has announced major changes for 2026 where CBT-2 Part-A & the Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) will now hold equal weightage of 50% each in the final merit list. RRB ALP Selection Process 2026
The recruitment cycle follows a five-stage RRB ALP selection process. The first step in the selection process is computer based exam which will be qualifying in nature. Applicants who ace the exam will be called for the CBT 2 exam. Candidates who qualify the CBT 2 exam are eligible to appear for the Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT). The final stage of the ALP selection process is document verification and medical examination. Any applicant found to be ineligible at any stage of the selection process will be disqualified from the RRB selection process 2026. RRB ALP Selection Process - CBAT Exam
The candidates who qualify in the CBT 1 & 2 are eligible to attend the CBAT as per the RRB ALP selection process. Minimum Qualifying Marks for the stage are 42 marks in each of the test batteries irrespective of the category. The questions will be asked in English and Hindi. As per the latest RRB ALP Selection Process 2026 changes, to prepare the final merit list, 50% weightage will now be allotted to the marks obtained in Part A of the second stage of CBT & 50% weightage will be given to the marks obtained in CBAT.
