BPSC Prelims Exam Pattern

Candidates must know the exam pattern before starting their preparation journey. Given below is the BPSC Prelims exam pattern to help candidates plan their preparation. Check the table to learn more.

• The BPSC 69th Prelims exam will be a multiple-choice question-based examination featuring objective-type questions.
• This exam will be of 150 marks and consists of 150 questions.
• Each correct answer is awarded 1 mark.
• 0.25 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. 
• The examination will be organized for 2 hours.

BPSC Mains Exam Pattern

The 69th BPSC Mains Exam Pattern comprises 5 papers, of which the General Hindi and Optional Paper will qualify. Candidates can choose any paper out of 34 subjects as an optional paper when completing the application process. 

• The exam will be conducted for a total of 1100 marks, but candidates will receive scores out of 900 marks, as Hindi & Optional Paper are qualifying in nature. 
• As per the latest BPSC Mains Exam Pattern 2023 change, the Optional Paper will now have MCQ-type questions. 
• Each examination will be organized for 3 hours and will be subjective (except for the optional paper).
