SSC GD Constable Selection Process
SSC GD Constable selection has different stages. The CBT is the first stage of GD selection process. Those who clear this stage are shortlisted for Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST). Selected candidates then appear for Medical Examination and Document Verification.

Important Points About SSC GD Selection Process
- The CBE is the main written stage of the recruitment process.
- Candidates need to meet the minimum qualifying marks in the CBE: 30% for UR, 25% for OBC/EWS and 20% for other categories.
- Candidates with valid NCC certificates can get bonus marks: 5% for NCC C, 3% for NCC B, and 2% for NCC A of the maximum marks.
- Candidates are shortlisted for PET/PST based on state-wise, area-wise and category-wise merit.
- Generally, candidates up to 8 times the number of vacancies are shortlisted for the PET/PST stage.
- Clearing one stage does not guarantee final selection. Candidates must qualify for all applicable stages.

The SSC GD Constable Exam is conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode and includes one objective-type paper. The paper is divided into four parts and is conducted for 60 minutes. SSC GD Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Pattern
The SSC GD Constable Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is a race-based physical test and takes place after CBT. PET checks basic fitness and is a must for all except Ex-Servicemen. Candidates need to complete the required distance within the official time period. The PET standards are different for male and female candidates and separate standards apply to candidates belonging to the Ladakh Region.

SSC GD Physical Standard Test (PST) Pattern
SSC GD PST measures height, chest (males only), and weight. It checks if candidates meet CAPF physical standards. Some categories get height/chest relaxation per govt rules. Females skip chest measurement but need a good physique.

SSD GD Minimum Weight: The weight must be proportionate to height and age as per medical standards.
Note:
- Candidates will undergo biometric verification during PET/PST.
- Ex-Servicemen must attend PST/PET only for recording height, chest, and weight.
- No appeal is allowed for PET (race), but appeals related to PST (height/chest) may be made on the same day.
