SBI Clerk Exam Pattern 2026
Candidates must get well-versed with the SBI Clerk exam pattern before appearing in the exam. The exam pattern of SBI Clerk helps candidates to understand the overall structure of the exam. SBI Clerk Prelims Exam Pattern 2026
Successfully registered candidates will have to appear for the online computer-based test. The prelims exam comprises topics from English language, reasoning, and numerical ability. There will be a total of 100 multiple-choice questions, each worth one mark. The exam will be conducted for a duration of one hour with sectional timing of 20 minutes each. As per the SBI Clerk exam pattern, the prelims exam will be qualifying in nature.

There will be four sections in the examination - General English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude, and General/Financial Awareness. SBI Clerk Local Language Proficiency Test Pattern
Candidates who qualify for selection and produce a 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/certificate to prove that they have studied the specified opted local language will not be subjected to any language test. In the case of others (qualified for selection), a specified opted-in local language test will be conducted after provisional selection but before joining. As per the SBI Clerk exam pattern, candidates who fail to qualify for this test will not be offered an appointment. Candidates not found proficient in the specified opted-in local language would be disqualified.

Is there any Negative Marking in SBI Clerk Exam 2026?
Yes, there is a negative marking system in the SBI Clerk Exam 2026. For every incorrect answer in both the Preliminary and Mains examinations, 0.25 marks (¼th of the marks assigned to the question) will be deducted as a penalty. However, no marks will be deducted for unanswered questions. Candidates should answer carefully to minimize negative marking and maximize their overall score.
SBI Clerk Selection Process
The selection of candidates will be done based on performance in multiple stages. Applicants first need to appear in the prelim exam. Shortlisted candidates will be called for the mains exam.
