Qualifying Marks and Tie-Breaking Criteria
The qualifying percentage for NEET-PG 2026 has been released alongside the merit list. General category candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks to be eligible for counseling, while reserved categories have their respective benchmarks. In the event of a tie in scores, NBEMS utilizes a strict tie-breaking policy: the candidate with a higher age will be ranked higher. If the age is identical, priority is given to those who secured higher marks in Biology. Should a tie persist, Mathematics marks are considered, followed by Chemistry, and finally Physics.
Next Steps: Counselling and Selection Stages
Following the declaration of results, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) and various state counseling authorities will initiate the registration and choice-filling process for centralized counseling. Candidates must keep their documents, including category certificates, domicile proofs, and NEET-PG scorecard, ready for the verification process. Shortlisted candidates will be allotted seats based on their merit rank and the choices filled during the counseling rounds.
